Launch Gimmick Design & Anniversary Video Production for MARA's 60th Commemoration
VISIOLAB was commissioned by Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) to design and produce the integrated launch gimmick for Mencorak Masa Hadapan Negara (Shaping the Nation's Future), the centrepiece reveal of MARA's 60th anniversary commemoration on 3 May 2026 at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTC KL). Held in conjunction with Hari MARA Ke-60, the event convened MARA leadership, alumni, partners, and dignitaries from across the nation, with the Honourable Prime Minister of Malaysia delivering the keynote address.
The gimmick was positioned as the climactic moment of the day's programme. After a retrospective video by another appointed vendor played following the Deputy Prime Minister's address, the Prime Minister took the stage to deliver his keynote. At the close of his speech, the launch gimmick activated: the Prime Minister stepped up to a launch activation pad on stage, swiped a touch-based interface, and triggered a laser projection mapping prelude that flowed seamlessly into the 90-second main video.
The video itself was constructed as a first-person journey. Viewers stepped into the perspective of an individual nurtured and empowered by MARA, travelling through the formative chapters of their life and into the future they go on to shape. The narrative made MARA's role legible at human scale, from early education and faith formation, through professional life, into national leadership and the high-growth, high-value industries that define Malaysia's economic trajectory.
The creative concept, Arah ke Hadapan (Direction Forward), framed MARA not as an institution looking back on its accomplishments but as one actively shaping the trajectory of the nation. The tagline, "Setiap potensi dipacu menuju masa depan yang dibina bersama" (Every potential driven towards a future we build together), anchored every visual, interactive, and editorial decision across the gimmick. The video served as the public-facing reveal of Gagasan 40 Tahun MARA (MARA's 40-Year Vision), alongside the Pelan Strategik MARA 2026-2030 and the Agenda 3P: Penyertaan, Pemilikan, Penguasaan (Participation, Ownership, Mastery).
VISIOLAB's scope covered concept development, launch experience design, laser projection mapping for the prelude sequence, the touch-based UI for the activation pad, 3D low-poly animation for the main video, Bahasa Malaysia scriptwriting, creative direction, voiceover production, and final delivery. The project was delivered in close coordination with MARA's Bahagian Perancangan Strategik (Strategic Planning Division) team, alongside the appointed stage design team, MARA Corporate Communications, the protocol team, and the Prime Minister's Office.
